On December 2, 2020, at 08.30 hours, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin presided over the opening ceremony of “The Human Resource Management of Thailand Day 2020″ under the theme “Building Organizational Resilience: HR & the Future Strategy on Transformation.” The event focused on presenting knowledge and understanding of the role of human resource management in the future. President of the Personnel Management Association of Thailand Dr. Bawornan Thongkalaya presented a report and awarded the HR Innovation Award 2020 at Vibhavadi Grand Ballroom, Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao.
The Labour Minister said that businesses and organizations are now facing multi-dimensional challenges. In addition to the rapidly changing environment both inside and outside the organization, the challenge is likely to intensify and will likely continue for at least 3-5 years. In such situations, organizations have a shorter time to adapt to varying contexts and strategies. Strategies that have been used in the past may not respond to the desired outcome. Key competencies to drive organizations under the “New Normal” and prepare for “Next Normal” require organizations to move fast. When faced with problems, companies need timely adaptation to achieve agility, flexibility, and adaptability, creating resilience in the face of emergencies and recovering from a crisis quickly. It is something that companies in the 21st century must achieve, not just at the business level only, but the organization must seek ways to build its ability to adapt. Building resilience for the organization’s people is also important.
“We wish those of you who are involved in innovation, management, and human resource development to be empowered, energized, thoughtful, and committed to nurture virtue and develop the activities in progress for greater excellence,” concluded Mr. Suchart.
