Labour Minister Commences Workplace Safety Training for Over 600 Safety Officers and Workers to Create Awareness

        The Labour Minister commenced a training course following the Ministerial Regulations under the Safety Act B.E. 2554 to create knowledge and awareness of workplace safety among over 600 safety officers and members of the general public. The occasion took place at the Novotel Hotel, Sriracha District, Chonburi Province
The Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, gave a speech after presiding over the opening ceremony of the “Training course following the Ministerial Regulations under the Safety Act B.E. 2554”. He said that the Ministry of Labour had given New Year’s gifts to the people under the campaign “Giving Gifts at Discounts and For Free, For a Happy Workforce” to bring happiness to fellow workers. Today’s activity was “Safety Service to Enhance Workers’ Quality of Life with Free Safety Training for 10,000 people”, which is one of the activities under the campaign. The objective is to allow people involved in workplace safety to develop their knowledge following the legal standards of the Occupational Safety, Health, and Work Environment Act B.E. 2554, to develop a body of safety knowledge that is accurate and systematic, to apply the knowledge gained to perform operations on occupational safety, health, and working environment efficiently. As a result, work-related accidents can be prevented and reduced.
The Department of Labour Protection and Welfare’s Director-General, Mr. Niyom Songkaew, added that the “Training course following the Ministerial Regulations under the Safety Act B.E. 2554” was organised under collaboration between the Center for Occupational Safety 2 (Chonburi) in conjunction with Seamed Living Care Hospital, the Thai Occupational Medicine Foundation, the Phra Nakhon Safety Officer Club and Perfect Safety Training and Consulting Co., Ltd. Trainees were divided into two groups: 100 professional safety officers who trained on-site and technical workplace safety officers at the advanced technical level, professional level, employees and the general public, of over 500 people, attended online. The department sincerely hopes that such projects will create awareness among participants to have a good sense of safety in the workplace and be able to apply the acquired skills, knowledge, and experience to help monitor and prevent work-related accidents in the future.
