On November 14, 2022, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, spoke about Thailand, which was honoured to host the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting and related meetings between November 14 and 19 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. The Ministry of Labour assigned the Department of Skill Development to join a booth to organize the Thai wellness massage and spa activities to support Thai and international press covering news of the APEC meeting, including thousands of delegates from economic zones attending the event. The activities aim to promote participation in presenting standardized Thai labour skills to foreigners in this event. It is considered a soft power of Thai people that spreads awareness of Thai art, culture, and identity to foreigners. Today, the Labour Minister assigned the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on Politics), Mrs. Thienrat Navamawat, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives to visit and inspect the massage services for Thai and foreign press covering news of the APEC meeting on the first day.
The Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, said that from the first day’s inspection of the massage services, many press members, both Thai and foreign, showed interest in receiving Thai wellness massage and spa services free of charge. Importantly, it spreads awareness to foreigners to learn about ancient Thai massage for relaxation. The Thai wellness massage and spa services are at the press reception zone, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. It provides services to Thai and foreign press covering news about the APEC meeting, including delegates from economic zones participating in the event, from today until November 19. The activities consist of three demonstration activities, including Thai wellness massage and spa services (neck and shoulder massage, Tok Sen massage, hot stone spa massage), making herbal products for use in Thai wellness massage and spa, and making healthy herbal drinks. Each day there will be 30 – 50 masseuses providing services 10 hours a day. The first group would offer services from 09.00 to 14.00 hours, and the second group from 14.00 to 19.00 hours.
