Labour Minister Emphasizes SSO Appeal Committee to Prioritize the Public’s Interest for Social Equality

          On October 3, 2022, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, welcomed the Chairman of the Social Security Office’s Appeal Committee, Mr. Arthit Ismo, and the Appeal Committee on the occasion of meeting the Labour Minister to report the committee’s performance of resolving appeals of Section 39 insured persons. They also reported the results of the appeal hearing of the Appeal Committee from February 2021 to September 2022 at the Chatumongkol Room, 6th floor, Ministry of Labour. The Social Security Office’s Appeal Committee was established under the Social Security Act B.E. 2533. It is responsible for considering appeals from employers, insured persons, or any other person dissatisfied with the order of the Secretary-General or the competent official giving orders under the powers and duties of the Appeal Committee. It is an organization with the power to consider appeals established in the form of a committee comprising qualified representatives from employers and employees, working in a tripartite manner.
          Mr. Suchart said that the Ministry of Labour thanked the Appeal Committee for the many matters they have worked on in helping to take care of workers’ rights. He asked that the committee continue to work by considering the people at the center, listening to their problems, and applying those problems as a policy to solve them. Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha has approved various projects that will benefit people. He commended the Appeal Committee for making appeal decisions under the principle of balancing the people’s feelings to create justice under humanitarian principles and equality for the highest benefits in society for employers, employees, and workers. The efforts are in line with the government’s policy to focus on strengthening the nation’s human resources, creating a strong nation, and providing people with stability in life.
