Labour Minister Excels Vision Ends Initiative

           Labour Minister General Sirichai Distakul chaired the meeting where he met with network partners on collaboration for a Thailand 4.0 and presentation of policies and guidelines for the 2018 budget year. The meeting took place at the Jompol P. Pibulsongkhram conference room at the Ministry of Labour today. He said that the government had put focus on national development, where it has devised a 20-year national strategy as a long-term framework on maintaining, promoting and driving Thailand towards becoming a developed nation, having the ability to move forward sustainably amidst global changes. He spoke about the Ministry of Labour’s 20-year human resource development strategy and master plan which puts emphasis on workforce development. In the first five years, the plan focuses on building and planning for the ‘man power’ phase transition to the ‘brain power’ stage which will see Thailand become a highly intellectual and skilled workforce in the last phase of the strategy. Most importantly he said, was close collaboration between trilateral organizations and civil partnerships on driving the workforce in face of future change and challenges.

            The Labour Minister continued that in 2018, the Ministry of Labour will accelerate the ‘vision ends’ initiative which aims to eliminate labour-related problems and obstacles. This includes an end to inequality, an end to unacceptable forms of employment and an end to inefficiency. He said that 2018 would be a solid step into the twenty-fifth year of building strong foundations for later generations and in establishing a balance with trilateral systems. The Labour Minister highlighted collaboration as the key for success in drawing the future of the people.
