Labour Minister Joins Eastern Special Development Zone Policy Committee Meeting No. 5.2020

          On December 18, 2020, at 09.30 hours, Prime Minister and Defense Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha chaired the Eastern Special Development Zone Policy Committee Meeting No. 5/2020. Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin also attended the meeting at the Santi Maitree Building (outside), Government Houses. The meeting reported the investment value in the Eastern Special Development Zone, the progress of the agricultural development plan in the EEC area, the progress of the Eastern Fruit Corridor, the development of the 5G network in the EEC area, tax measures to support the development of personnel for an Industry 4.0, tax measures to support the relocation of production bases of foreign investors and advances in water management in the EEC area.

          The meeting considered the development project of Laem Chabang Port in the third phase in Port Terminal F, the high-speed rail project connecting three airports, the Industrial Promotion and Digital Innovation Zone (EECd), the appointment of the subcommittee to drive the development and connect logistical systems in the Eastern Special Development Zone seamlessly. It also reported the Office Annual Report 2020, the termination and appointment of Deputy Secretary-General of the Eastern Economic Corridor Policy Committee, the (draft) announcement and regulations of the Eastern Economic Corridor Policy Committee, the appointment of the Deputy Secretary-General to act for the Secretary-General, amendments to the regulations on meeting and voting, and improvements on the orders of the Eastern Special Development Zone Committee.
