Labour Minister Joins National Committee Meeting on Elimination of Child Labour in Worst Forms No. 1/2020

          On June 6, 2020, at 09.30 hours, Labour Minister M.R. Chatu Mongol Sonakul chaired the National Committee Meeting to eliminate child labour in worst forms no. 1/2020. Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol joined the meeting along with the National Committee. The meeting explained the origin or powers and duties of the National Committee and presented various issues related to the use of child labour in the worst forms. The National Committee was informed and acknowledged the following: 1. The Ministry of Labour’s Order No. 153/2020 regarding the appointment of advisors and the National Committee to eliminate worst forms of child labour. 2. To eliminate the use of child labour in worst forms following the report on the elimination of child labour in worst forms. 3. The report on the elimination of the use of child labour in worst forms in relation to child boxing. 4. The study and evaluation on the implementation of national policies and plans to eliminate the use of child labour in the worst forms in the 2015-2020 budget year. 5) The draft report on the elimination of child labour in the 2019 fiscal year. The meeting also considered the appointment of a subcommittee to monitor and gather information on preventive actions and resolve child labor and forced labor in the shrimp, fishing, sugarcane and clothing product industries, and 2. Appointment of the subcommittee on the monitoring and evaluation of performance following the national policy and plan to eliminate child labour in the worst forms in the 2021 fiscal year. The meeting took place at the Prof. Nikom Chandravithu conference room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour.
