Labour Minister Joins PM’s Delegation to Unite with Australia, Positioning Thailand as an Investment Hub and Gateway to ASEAN at Sydney Address

          August 18, 2026, at 16:00 hours local Australian time – Mr. Julapun Amornvivat, Minister of Labour, accompanied the delegation of Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, to attend the “Thailand–Australia Investment and Business Partnership Reception.” At the event, the Prime Minister delivered a keynote address on the theme of “Thailand and Australia, A Strategic Partnership for Growth,” attended by a large gathering of government and leading business representatives from both countries, to strengthen economic and investment ties and invite the Australian business community to use Thailand as a primary investment base and gateway to the ASEAN market of nearly 700 million people, at Crown Towers Hotel, Sydney, Commonwealth of Australia.

          The Prime Minister noted that in 2027, Thailand and Australia will mark 75 years of diplomatic relations, and that throughout this period the two countries have maintained strong cooperation under their Free Trade Agreement (FTA). The Thai government is committed to facilitating and creating a business ecosystem conducive to investment through key measures such as Thailand FastPass for swift business operations, the Utility Green Tariff for access to clean energy, and Skill Bridge, which is an important mechanism for developing human capital aligned with the needs of future industries, consistent with the Ministry of Labour’s mission of preparing human resources to support regional investment.

          Over 53 leading Australian businesses, such as ANCA, Canva, and Hastings, as well as major Thai private sector companies including ThaiBev, Gulf Development, Minor International, B.Grimm Power, and Mitr Phol Group, attended the event to network and hear about the proactive policy directions of the Thai government, reflecting the confidence of foreign investors amidst the challenges of the current global economy.
