Labour Minister Pays Tribute to H.M. King Chulalongkorn, the Father of State Enterprises, on the Thai State Enterprise Day 2022

          On September 20, 2022, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, was the chairman of the government side in joining the commemoration ceremony and paying tribute to His Majesty King Chulalongkorn and the importance of Thai state enterprises on the occasion of Thai State Enterprise Day 2022. The ceremony was hosted to show loyalty and gratitude for His Majesty’s establishment of state enterprises to operate in basic public utilities, providing happiness to the people until now. Secretariat to the Labour Minister, Mr. Suthep Chitvong, Assistant Minister from the Prime Minister’s Office, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour, Mr. Suthi Sukosol, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, the Ministry of Labour’s executives, civil servants and state enterprise employees, also joined the ceremony. Deputy Executive Secretary of the State Enterprise Workers’ Relations Confederation, Mr. Sarawut Saranwong, reported the event’s objectives at the Royal Monument of King Rama V, the Waterworks Headquarters, Nakhon Luang, Prachachuen Road, Lak Si District, Bangkok.
          Mr. Suchart said that on the occasion of the birthday of His Majesty King Chulalongkorn, King Rama 5, he expressed his gratitude in a tribute to His Majesty King Chulalongkorn, “Father of Thai State Enterprises.” The King established many prosperous achievements throughout his reign of over 42 years. He performed royal duties that benefited the nation in many ways. His Majesty improved ministries, bureaus, and departments and implemented a new administrative system, giving rise to sanitation management, local nourishment, waterworks, electricity, postal services and telegraph, telephone communications, and railways to operate as basic public utilities. He established important ministries, including judicial affairs, that have led the nation to prosperity on par with other civilized countries, for the benefit and happiness of the people, until today.
          Mr. Suchart continued that the government has always given importance to state-owned enterprises, as they are the state’s mechanism to drive the country’s economy and investment. They are a public service provider to the people. Therefore, state enterprises must continue to enhance their efficiencies to have a good governance system that is transparent and aligns with the changing economic and social context. This will lead to building an environment that provides quality public services to the people, effectively driving the country’s economy towards stability, prosperity, and sustainability.
