          Labour Minister Shows Concern for Insured Persons and Assigns Advisor to Visit Insured Persons with Disabilities in Chumphon

          On November 1, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, Assistant Minister from the Prime Minister’s Office, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour Police Major General Nantachat Supamongkol and the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics), Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat to visit Chumphon to encourage insured persons with disabilities. In this regard, the Social Security Office’s Secretary-General, Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, assigned the Social Security Office’s Inspector-General, Mrs. Wantana Natthaphunwat, and Chumphon Provincial Social Security Officer Mr. Poonsak Pramong to join the delegation too.
          Labour Minister Shows Concern for Insured Persons and Assigns Advisor to Visit Insured Persons with Disabilities in Chumphon. The Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, revealed that Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin is concerned about employees and insured persons who have experienced danger or insecurity to the extent that it has caused them to become a person with disabilities. The Labour Minister places importance on taking care of insured persons in every aspect, and even if the employee/insured person is in danger, they must not leave anyone behind. Today, she was assigned by Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin to travel to Chumphon to boost morale among people with disabilities and their families and positively view the social security system. They also took the opportunity to acknowledge problems and provide advice on exercising the legal rights of persons with disabilities, and monitored symptoms of illness to lead to treatment and rehabilitation.

The Social Security Office’s Inspector-General, Mrs. Wantana Natthaphunwat, said that she was assigned by the Social Security Office’s Secretary-General, Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, to join the delegation to visit Chumphon Province with the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan. The visit delivered essential supplies to insured persons with disabilities under the supervision of the Chumphon Social Security Office. They visited two insured persons at their homes. The first was Mr. Somchai Kosuma, currently 39 years old, an insured person under Section 33, residing at 10/2 Moo 2, Bang Mak Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chumphon Province. He had an accident at work where he was hit by a truck in reverse. He has been disabled since November 7, 2019. He is currently receiving monthly compensation of 5,642 Baht per month for life (total funds received as of September 2021 was approximately 174,300 Baht). The second person was Ms. Ketkanaya Kleebumrung, currently 51 years old, insured under Section 33, residing at 93/18 Saladaeng Road, Tha Taphao Subdistrict, Mueang District Chumphon Province. She suffered a traffic accident (out-of-work) and has been disabled since August 8, 2017. She currently receives monthly compensation of 7,500 Baht per month which she will receive for a lifetime (total funds received as of September 2021 was approximately 375,000Baht). She assured the insured persons that the Ministry of Labour’s Social Security Office would take care of them to receive complete benefits and access to support quickly for a better quality of life.
