Labour Minister Visits Entrepreneurs Developing Modern Businesses, Meets Labour Volunteers and Donates Floating Restrooms to Help Flood Victims in Chumphon Province

          On November 1, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin traveled to Chumphon Province to visit the Center for Skill Development’s activities and meet with labour volunteers. He also joined a meeting to hand over the policies and meet with the heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Chumphon Province at the Center for Skill Development Center, Chumphon Skill Development Office, Tha Yang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chumphon Province. The Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, Secretariat to the Labour Minister Mr. Suthep Chitvong, Assistant Minister from the Prime Minister’s Office performing duties for the Ministry of Labour Police Major General Nantachat Supamongkol, the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics), Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives also joined the occasion. The Labour Minister viewed the successful activities following the project to enhance labour productivity and modern entrepreneurship, and successful activities from providing training on self-employment and online sales under the skills development project to boost the GPP in Chumphon Province to 100,000 million Baht. The delegation observed skill development activities in clean energy technology in front of the electrician and electronics building. They visited the production group to strengthen the Young Smart Farmer and visited drip coffee shop activities at Robusta Chumphon and the DSD volunteer activity for society. They donated one floating restroom and 1,200 bottles of drinking water under the Social Volunteer Project with Love and Care from the Ministry of Labour and the private sector. The donation was made to Deputy Governor of Chumphon Mr. Samrit Kongngern to help flood victims in Chumphon Province.
          Chumphon Province has a workforce of 289,559 people, comprising 288,654 employed people and 905 unemployed people. There are 38,107 foreign workers, 70 labour volunteers, and 2,354 establishments. There are 33,928 insured persons under Section 33, 8,145 insured persons under Section 39, and 34,769 insured persons under Section 40. A total of 5,342 people received unemployment benefits, valued at 26,535,444.45 Baht. Unemployment benefits due to force majeure from COVID-19 were paid to 266 establishments, covering 1,046 employees, amounting to 3,080,676.07 Baht.
