Labour Minister Welcomes UN Resident Coordination in Thailand and Delegation

          On June 18, 2020, at 13.30 hours, Labour Minister M.R. Chatu Mongol Sonakul welcomed the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Thailand Mrs. Gita Sabharwal and Director of the International Labour Office in Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos, Mr. Graeme John Buckley on a courtesy call to discuss important cooperation issues. The topics included 1. Guidelines for cooperation between the United Nations Country Team (UNCT) in Thailand and the Ministry of Labour to strengthen the social security system. 2. Exchange opinions on ways to develop labour for Thai economic and social development, to achieve the sustainable development goals (SDGs) efficiently, and 3. Introduce the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) report on the study of the impact COVID-19 has had on employment and the Thai labour market. Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol and the Ministry of Labour’s executives also joined the welcoming and discussion the above issues at Chatumongol Room, 6th floor, Ministry of Labour.
