Labour Minister’s Advisor Meets with MOL Agency Heads and Provides Financial Support to Insurers Injured From Work

          On February 5, 2020, at 15.20 hours, Advisor to the Labour Minister Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak Punchoopet observed operations of the Nong Khai Social Security Office. Nong Khai Social Security Officer Ms. Rangsima Preechachat gave a welcoming and chaired the meeting for the heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour. Nong Khai Labour Officer Mrs. Wannakan Khao-Lap, Nong Khai Social Security Officer Ms. Rangsima Preechachat, Nong Khai Employment Officer Mrs. Kanokrawee Wongsaroj, Director of the Nong Khai Skill Development Office Ms. Praphatsorn Prachantasen and Nong Khai Labour Protection and Welfare Officer Mr. Thanapong Orachorn, together with the department officials under the Ministry of Labor in Nong Khai province, attended the meeting. The Advisor to the Labour Minister said that this visit aimed to understand the problems of each province. He said that if there are only waterfalls without springs, nature will not be beautiful. That means, if there are only policies from the senior management to the operational level only (like a waterfall), it is challenging to complete the work, as problems should be proposed, including suggestions from the operational level to senior management (like a fountain).

The Advisor to the Labour Minister presented grants from the Social Security Fund to the employees receiving compensation. The four recipients were:

  1. Mr. Sangchai Namooltri, ages 52, a company employee of Udom Wood Products Co., Ltd., in a general staff position. He had an accident whereby a logger cut his middle and ring finger on his left hand. He was compensated according to the notification of the Ministry of Labour, in the amount of 6,720 Baht per month, for 16 months, totaling 107,520 Baht.
  2. Mrs. Duangmanee Chokchalerm, aged 48, an employee of Thep Arunothai Co., Ltd., in the position of a production officer. She had an accident whereby the conveyor roller clamped her right thumb at the fingertip level. She was compensated according to the notification of the Ministry of Labour, in the amount of 9,736.30 Baht per month, for 14 months, totaling 136,308.20 Baht.
  3. Mr. Pariwat Kidsopha, aged 36, an employee of the Sub-District Administrative Organization in Phon Phisai District, Nong Khai Province. He had an accident while using a rope to fasten the structure of the water supply tower. An iron bar fell, causing the rope tied with the steel rod to pull and cut his right index finger. He was compensated according to the notification of the Ministry of Labour, in the amount of 9,299.50 Baht per month, for 16 months, totaling 148,792 Baht.
  4. Ms. Thongchan Sununa (mother of insured, Ms. Aphaporn Yapuru). She received a funeral fee of 40,000 Baht. The insured passed away, not from work causes.

After granting money to insurers, the Advisor to the Labour Minister observed the operations of the receiving and sending employment center in Nong Khai Province,        Pho Chai, Mueang District, Nong Khai.
