On February 13, 2020, at 09.50 hours, Advisor to the Labour Minister Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak Punchoopet traveled to Sakon Nakhon, to visit Sakon Nakhon Hospital, That Choeng Chum, Mueang Sakon Nakhon. He visited the work disease clinic (Occupational Health Workers Room) and observed health checks for insurers (Healthy Thailand). Mrs. Boonrueang Rojanasiri, acting on behalf of the Sakon Nakhon Social Security Office led the visit. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak gave gifts to 7 insured persons after childbirth, including Ms. Phenphak Cha-sanguan, Mrs. Ratree Duangkhun, Ms. Cattleya Boon-Lek, Ms. Duanphen Kaew-sondee, Ms. Pachanee Somsiri, Ms. Sudarat Saensirimongkol, and Ms. Nidnoi Saenpholon.
Social security rights in case of childbirth include payment of medical fees in the case of childbirth given to the insured at the rate of 13,000 Baht per childbirth. For female insurers, maternity leave benefits are paid at a rate of 50 percent of the average wage for a period of 90 days. For the third childbirth, the insurer will not receive the maternity leave allowance at the rate of 50 percent of the average wage for a period of 90 days. If the father and mother are both insured, either can claim any part of the cost of childbirth for the unlimited number of children each time.
