On December 16, 2020, at 10.00 hours, Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong chaired the meeting of the workforce skill development project for the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) to present the performance on skill development for the EEC Workforce Skills Development Project for 2020, the EEC Workforce Development Monitoring Project and the Transportation Skill Development Plan in Chonburi and Rayong. The meeting took place in Meeting Room 1, 5th floor, the 25 Years Building, Department of Skill Development.
The development of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) is the foundation for Thailand’s long-term development following the strategic plan under the Thailand 4.0 policy, which is built on the Eastern Economic Development Plan. It covers three provinces in the eastern region, namely Chonburi, Rayong, and Chachoengsao. Its main objective is to be the perfect spatial development model of Thailand in the eastern region, helping to drive economic and social development to enable Thailand to become a developed country by 2037. It also aims to become a global economic center, supporting investment in 12 target industries. The target groups will be trained to upgrade skills for the workforce under the EEC Model shot course (Type B) for 2020, covering over 400 people. Those who have passed the master trainer’s training for 2020 is over 20 people, and companies participating in the project for 2020 exceeds 50 organizations.
