Labour Office in Taipei Participates in First Thai Association’s Annual General Meeting in Taiwan for 2015

On the 14th June 2015, advisor (on labour) of the Labour Office in Taipei Miss Sadudee Kittisuwan participated in the first annual general meeting for the Thai association in Taiwan at the Thai Made restaurant in Taipei. The meeting had the objective of reporting progress made by the managing committee and the election of a new committee, with the duty of continuing the management of the Thai people association’s work in Taiwan. At present, there are over 400 members in the Thai association in Taiwan, with the elected association president most recently being Mr. Kondech Saelee.

 Advisor (on labour) of the Labour Office in Taipei, Miss Sadudee Kittisuwan thanked the association for being the central unit for Thai people in Taiwan throughout the past 14 years, whereby the Labour Office would always support the working and activities of the association for the benefit of Thai people and workers in Taiwan. Furthermore, Miss Sadudee congratulated the newly elected president for the association, and the committee for collection election ballots from members at the meeting. Miss Sadudee also expressed hope for the association to continue being the center for Thai people and Thai workers in Taiwan, in accordance to the association’s objectives. 

The Thai association in Taiwan was started by Mr. Julapong Nonesrichai, previous Executive Director of the Thailand Trade and Economic Office in 1999, with the first association meeting on the 15th May 1999 at the Thailand Trade and Economic Office. From there, there was the election of a committee, with a drafting of an association constitution before registering at the Ministry of Interior of Taiwan as a formal juristic person organization on the 22nd June 2001.
