Malaysia Announces FWCMS System Again fro, 15 June 2015 Onwards

On the 9th June 2015, Malaysia by the Immigration Office of Malaysia held a press release that the Ministry of Home Affairs in Malaysia had a resolution to use the FWCMS system in the bio-medical checks in origin countries and calling visa documents (eVDR), for employers in Malaysia once again, after announcing the termination of use before this. The system will be implemented from the 15th June 2015 onwards, with the following important details:

1. Foreign workers entering Malaysia for work must have medical checkups at hospitals with the FWCMS system, in order to check biological information of foreign workers and for initial screening before proceeding to medical checks in Malaysia again.

The system will be implemented from the 15th June 2015 onwards, with the following important details:

1. Foreign workers entering Malaysia for work must have medical checkups at hospitals with the FWCMS system, in order to check biological information of foreign workers and for initial screening before proceeding to medical checks in Malaysia again.

2. There will not be the requirement for the calling visa document at the counter of the immigration office, and those requesting for calling visas through the eVDR system must purchase compensation insurance to foreign workers which will be an important criteria in considering the approval for the calling visa.

3. Throughout the transition of the system, the immigration center’s counter will open for 15 days before closing completely on the 1st July 2015.

4. There will be no extra charged for calling visa documents (eVDR) through the FWCMS. 

5. Employers must check and revise information and details related to telephone and e-mail in the system at the immigration office, ensuring correctness.

The process of requesting calling visa documents online will help employers approve the calling visa within 48 hours from the previous 3 months, and will also be able to screen medical information of workers before travelling to Malaysia.
