Minister Counselor (On Labour) from Labour Office in Japan Visits Trainees in Ishikawa Province

On the 27th – 28th September 2015, Minister Counselor (on labour) Mrs. Suchada Cheecharoen of the Labour Office in Japan visited Hokuriku Road Service Business Cooperative Association in Ishikawa to meet 14 trainees and 5 employers including:
 
1. Reatec Corporation in the construction industry.
2. Maeda Kozai in the metal lathe industry.
3. Kyomachi Sangyo Sharyo in the machine parts polishing industry.
4. Shibuya Kogyo in the machinery production industry.
5. Tocone in the cloth dying industry.
 
Employers were generally satisfied with the performance of Thai trainees. Apart from being obedient and collaborating with colleagues well, they said that they planned to accept more Thai trainees. The trainees in Japan had a good source of income, being able to send home around 90,000 – 130,000 Japanese Yen each month. Some trainees said that they had been teased by Japanese and Chinese colleagues, but employers understood the issue and sorted it appropriately. The Japanese Labour Office also gave tips on working and knowledge about benefits of the Japanese social security system, motivating the trainees to be determined and be well disciplined at work, following good examples by Japanese people. The Labour Office also advised the trainees to focus on improving their language skills, and also advised the trainees to stick to the 5 commandments for workers project, whereby distributing brochures, name cards and prayer books to the trainees.
