Mr. Visa Khanthub, Vice Minister of Labour, visits Thai workers at Compaq Co. in Taiwan’s county of Taoyuan and discusses with the company’s executives on ways to expand labour market for Thai workers.

 

 

 

 
On April 21, 2012, Mr. Visa Khanthub, Vice Minister of Labour, along with Mr. Prasopchai Yuvaves, Advisor to Minister of Labour, Ms. Songsri Boonba, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Labour, Mrs. Nattaya Anudit, Inspector-General of Department of Employment, Mrs. Ratiwan Soontra, Minister Counsellor (Labour Affairs) at Office of Labour Affairs in Taiwan (Section 2 Taipei), and Ms. Kwanta Mangkornrat, Counsellor (Labour Affairs) at Office of Labour Affairs in Taiwan (Section 2 Kaoshiung), and other staffs visited Compaq Co. in Taiwan’s county of Taoyuan and met with the company’s executives to discuss ways to expand labour market for Thai workers.
 
Compaq Co. is a producer of computer and mobile phone parts. Found some 40 years ago, the company has factories in both mainland China and Taiwan, providing employment for some 186 Thai workers.
 
The vice minister of labour also met with representatives of Thai workers and give them advice on health care, and local laws. He also told them to keep away from drugs and all the vices and gave them some souvenirs to boost their work morale.
 
The company executives then led the Thai delegations to tour around workers’ dormitory and cafeteria.
