Ministry of Labor cooperates in all sectors to send labor back home safely during Songkran

          Today (April 2, 2018) H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labor chaired “The meeting to prepare laborers to return home safely during the Songkran Festival” at the 5th floor of the Ministry of Labor.

         Today, it is a meeting to urge employers and entrepreneurs to arrange a good leave for employees to return home during Songkran Festival easily and safely. The resolution of the Cabinet on March 27, 2018, to allow the return to the country of origin to participate in the Songkran festival. And back in Thailand from 5 to 30 April 2018, it must follow the guidelines that the Department of Employment.

          General Adul added that the employer urged employees to prepare for insurance before the trip and carry ID card to be able to use social security in case of emergency without having to pay. In addition, the employee must plan their travel by checking the car before the journey, do not drink alcohol, do not drive faster than the law and respect the traffic laws. For large enterprises, they have been asked to cooperate with their employers to facilitate the transfer of employees from the factory to the passenger terminal in order to keep the workers safe in the framework of safety, it is expected that during the Songkran festival this year. There are about 4 million Thai workers returning home, and about 200,000 foreign workers returning home.

          The Ministry of Labor has also opened 78 free nationwide. They will provide check service, tire, distillation, brake, clutch, electrical system, oil change, light bulb, and other components. Relaxing massages, snacks and drinks are available to the public during Songkran on main and secondary roads and a lot of tourists, which are the province. The service will be available from April 11 – 17, 2018, as well as mobile health check-ups and handouts to laborers at the main bus terminal. The 1506 hotline is available 24 hours a day.
