           Today (16 Aug, 2018), Mr. Jarin Chakkaphark, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labor assigned Mr. Somsak Apiwananakul, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labor to open a workshop on “Labor Market Information for Migration Policy” at the Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok.

          The Deputy Assistant Secretary of Labor has mentioned the current problems of the rapidly changing world in terms of economy and technology. This results in inadequate labor skills in the context of the world. Developing the right labor force as a weapon for those workers can work in a sustainable and sustainable way in today’s world. This will lead to the full potential of social work in the world, both internationally and in ASEAN. In addition, the Deputy Permanent Secretary thanked the IOM for this project and hoped that the conclusions of the meeting would be useful for determining the appropriate skills of migrant workers in ASEAN. Workshop is under the project “Strengthening capacity to certify employment skills and migrant migration data to support ASEAN integration”. The program was presented to the 11th ASEAN Senior Labor Officials Meeting (SLOM) in May 2015 in Manila, Philippines. It has been ratified by ASEAN member countries. The first meeting was held between 4 and 5 June 2018 and the second was held from 16-17 August 2018. It is scheduled for the third time between November 5 – 6, The Ministry of Labor has representatives from the Department of Employment and the Department of Skill Development attended the meeting.
