Ministry of Labor repeated major immigrants help to replace shortages of labor

            November 29, 2016 at 09.00 am. Mr.Vivathana Thanghong, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labor Coalition launched report “How do immigrants make a contribution to Thailand’s economy?” organized by the OECD Development Center in cooperation with the ILO and the EU, and chaired the first session of the panel on “How do immigrants contribute to the economies of developing countries?”

           By Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labor commenting on the report said immigrants have a long history in Thailand and for immigrants to seek economic opportunity or migrant workers who come to work in Thailand. It’s not just the benefits of employing from Thailand, but they also support the Thai economy by replacing the labor force in transition into the elderly society. The Ministry of Labor sees the importance of migrant workers. They are working to ensure that they enjoy economic benefits and are protected by law, such as the drafting of the Foreign Worker Administration Act of 1973, to ensure that employers and migrant workers are protected.
