The 3 key issues were 1) Efforts to tackle illegal entry for work, whereby the Ministry of Labour will supervise and monitor the work of the Labour Department at the Royal Thai Embassy in Seoul, Republic of Korea in close collaboration with Korean agencies using preventive measures by creating awareness and suppression measures with the arrest of recruiters providing unauthorized employment 2) Draft MOU on Facilitating Regular Migration by Preventing Illegal Hiring, whereby the Ministry of Labour has confirmed that the draft should focus on the exchange of information as each rule/regulation is a barrier to accessing personal information and for the benefit of management, which Korea has extended the duration in relaxing rules allowing illegal foreign workers to return to their home country voluntarily by March 2019, and 3) Resolution to Thai workers overstaying abroad, whereby Thailand was asked to help screen Thai workers who wish to work in Korea, in collaboration with immigration officers.
