Ministry of Labour Awarded for Outstanding Official Information Center

          Permanent Secretary of Labour M.L. Puntrik Smiti assigned Assistant Permanent Secretary Mrs. Tawil Permpetchsin as representative at the 2017 annual seminar on the Official Information Act BE 2540 and recipient for the trophy for outstanding official information center awarded by Mr. Omsin Chiwapruek, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office, which took place at the Santimaitree Building at the government houses today (15 September 2017). Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha envisioned the year 2017 as the year of official information centers, assigning for all government units to have an official information center and to make it public to the people to see the transparency of the government. The Prime Minister also assigned the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Prime Minister Office, to work with all units on disclosing information on managing public works within this year, then to present results for selection of outstanding examples.

          The Office of the Permanent Secretary of Labour was selected as the office with an outstanding official information center. Documents, websites and information were evaluated by the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Prime Minister Office on 31 July 2017. The Office of the Permanent Secretary of Labour established the center, responsible for disclosing official information in accordance with Section 7 and 9 (such as policies, plans and projects, budgets, manuals, orders impacting the private sector and purchasing history for example) under the Official Information Act BE 2540, aiming to promote transparency and information access. The Office of the Permanent Secretary of Labour’s official information center is located at the Ministry of Labour’s library on the fifteenth floor of it’s building. Information can be accessed via the Ministry of Labour’s website at www.mol.go.th/interestinglinks/officialinformationcenter or directly from http://www.oic.go.th/infocenter3/302/. 
          Other ministries awarded included the Prime Minister’s Office (The Government Public Relations Department), the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (the Permanent Secretary’s Office, Pollution Control Department), the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (the National Statistics Office), the Ministry of Commerce (the Department of Foreign Trade), the Ministry of Labour (Permanent Secretary’s Office) and the Ministry of Public Health (Department of Health).
