MOL and CU Prepare for National Labour Information Center (NLRC)

            The Ministry of Labour together with Chulalongkorn University develops a collaborative research plan to prepare for the establishment of a National Labour Information Center (NLRC) in support of the transition to technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to work effectively in the 4.0 era in accordance with the Ministry of Labour’s policy.
            On October 30, 2018, at 14.00 hours, Labour Minister H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo assigned Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Jarin Chakkaphark and the ministry’s executive team and relevant personnel to meet with Professor Bundhit Eua-arporn, President of Chulalongkorn University in the workshop to set up the National Labour Information Center and big data management at meeting room 209, Chamchuri 2 Building, Chulalongkorn University. The meeting discussed the ways in which the National Labour Information Center (NLRC) and big data system development can address the transition to disruptive technology and artificial intelligence, affecting the informal labour market and businesses.
            The Ministry of Labour and Chulalongkorn University will set up working groups and formulate strategic guidelines for implementation which will lead to the integration and management of the country’s labour information database and become a center for research on labour issues. It will further enhance database development and utilize policy research, becomeings a database that can be used by all sectors and capable of planning the future in the development of labour to keep pace and support the changes in the 4.0 era effectively and sustainably.
