On January 29, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong to visit Rayong to monitor progress on the proactive Covid-19 screening in workplaces for insured persons under Section 33, following the Labour Minister’s policy. The Labour Minister’s Assistant said that the
government, under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and the Ministry of Labour under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, has concerns for the workforce and all
groups of people and has continued to implement government measures. The Labour Minister has worked with relevant sectors and agencies in the area to work proactively to prevent and control the spread of the disease so that it is limited to areas and does not cause a widespread infection. This will affect the national economy both directly and indirectly and the well-being of people all over the country.
Mr. Surachai continued that the proactive Covid-19 screening in the workplace follows the Labour Minister’s policy to prevent and control infectious diseases from spreading to communities, places of work, or major tourist attractions, including restaurants, stores, and shops. This will also alleviate the Ministry of Public Health’s workload in monitoring and investigating diseases, simultaneously boosting the confidence among investors, private companies, tourists, and the public, to have confidence in traveling around Rayong safely and free from Covid-19. There are proactive Covid-19 screening measures in all dimensions. “The proactive Covid-19 screening today has received good cooperation from workplaces, which is considered to be an integration of collaboration between the Rayong Social Security Office and hospitals in the network, providing Covid-19 screening for 530 insured persons under Section 30. If the infection is detected, the insured person will enter the treatment process as determined by the Ministry of Public Health,” concluded Mr. Surachai.
