MOL Awards Organizations Demonstrating Excellence in Labour Management Systems

          The Ministry of Labour organized the Thailand Labour Management Excellence Award 2020, and awarded the trophies from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to organizations with excellent labour management systems, promoting a good quality of life for employees. The good practices also contribute to building investor confidence and promoting sustainable labour development, acting as a model for other companies to be used in organizational development.

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin gave a speech after presiding over the Thailand Labour Management Excellence Award 2020 on Monday, September 21, 2020, at the Swissotel Bangkok Ratchada Hotel, Huay Kwang, Bangkok. He said that the Ministry of Labour has an important policy to push and raise the level of labour management in the workplace to meet the standards that aim for decent work, by having social responsibility on labour that is in line with international labour standards. This is one of the key conditions of the world trade arena today, which will result in the stability of workers to have a better quality of life, building investor confidence. The awarding of the Thailand Labour Management Excellence Award 2020 is awarded to establishments that are committed to creating excellent labour management systems in accordance with the organization’s standards in three areas, including labour relations and welfare, occupational safety, health and working environment, and Thai labour standards. The Ministry of Labour requested a royal trophy from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn for 3 awards, divided into large, medium, and small-sized organizations. The award will honour the organizations’ efforts and the shared pride of employers and employees, for realizing the importance of contributing to the quality of life for workers and creating a sense of social responsibility for the workplace. The awarded organizations will be a model for others, for the further development of the organization.

          The Department of Labour Protection and Welfare’s Director-General Mr. Apinya Sucharitanan added that in 2020, the organizations that received the three awards were: The large organizations’ category (1,000 employees or more) was awarded to Tyson Pole Tree (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (Factory 5), the medium-sized organizations’ category (300 to 999 employees) was awarded to Gamma Industries Co., Ltd., and the small organizations’ category (1 to 299 employees) was awarded to Circuit Industries Co., Ltd. The ceremony will also award companies with outstanding labour management systems in each area, such as the Outstanding Enterprise Award for Safety, Occupational Health, and Work Environment for 15 and 20 years, with 19 awards, the Award for Outstanding Establishment for Labour Relations and Welfare for 15 consecutive years, with 44 awards, and honourary awards for companies that have maintained Thai labour standards for ten consecutive years, with three awards, totaling another 66 awards in the event.
