MOL Introduces 11 Workplace Safety Stations in Knowledge Center

         Today (11 January 2017) at the Smart Job Center, Labour Minister General Sirichai Distakul chaired the opening of the knowledge center on workplace safety in honour of Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on the occasion of her 60th birthday. The center was established to promote the Princess’s movement on workplace safety. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn also opened the Northeastern Worker’s Rehabilitation Center in the Khon Kaen on 1 December 2004. The Ministry of Labour’s executives have been determined to drive the cause, ensuring maximized workplace safety for worker’s protection, through creating an understanding of dangers. The center will be a place to share information with employers, employees, students, public and private organizations, where the people can learn from real cases.

 

 


            The Labour Minister said that the Ministry of Labour and government had emphasized importance of workplace safety, spreading awareness among all stakeholders and creating a consciousness on workplace safety. This will further contribute to a positive culture and drive safety measures to meet international standards. The center comprises 11 stations which include hazards in workplaces relevant to welding, chemicals, manual lifting and electronics and confined spaces. Other stations included knowledge on workplace safety about equipment and personal safety, switch locks and fixture of electronics and machinery for example. Those interested can visit the center at the Smart Job Center for free, open during government working days and hours.
