On July 2, 2020, at 11.00 hours, Labour Minister M.R. Chatu Mongol Sonakul and Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol joined the Asia and Pacific regional conference (by means of teleconferencing via Zoom) on the ILO Global Summit on COVID – 19 and the World of Work – Building a better future of work. ILO Director-General Mr. Guy Ryder and Assistant Vice President and the Director of the International Labour Office in Asia and the Pacific Mrs. Tomoko Nishimoto gave a brief introduction to the forum on helping businesses and promoting labour protection in the Asia-Pacific region. The forum also provided the opportunity for government representatives, employers and employees to express their views at the end of the session regarding future policy plans in line with the Declaration of the Century, and guide what the ILO should do in the Asia-Pacific region in the future. The meeting took place at the Prasong Rananant Meeting Room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour.
