MOL Joins Development of Thai Cook Standards

         Today (June 30, 2020) at 15.30 hours, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat and the Department of Skill Development’s Inspector-General Mr. Chakrit Decha joined the meeting of the Thai Cook Standards Project with the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Public Health, the Learning Institute for Everyone and Chitralada Institute of Technology. Director of Chitralada Institute of Technology Assoc. Prof. Khunying Sumontha Phromboon and President of the Boy Scouts Promotion Foundation of Thailand Dr. Arthorn Chantawimol chaired the meeting at the meeting room on the 4th floor, Building 604, Chitralada Institute of Technology, Sanam Sua Pa.

         The meeting agreed on the cooperation of the Thai Cook Standards Development Project to prepare Thai cooks to have higher potential in the post-COVID era, certified by the skill standards of the Department of Skill Development, Ministry of Labour and the food contact standards of the Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health. The Department of Health and the Department of Skill Development will train the trainers from Chitralada Institute of Technology and the Learning Institute for Everyone, to develop guest speakers for teaching that will be held together, combining both online and face-to-face formats. The project aims to improve the readiness of Thai cooks to be able to apply for tests from both departments, while the Chitralada Institute of Technology will cooperate with the parties conducting teaching and publishing videos, both online and in conjunction with face-to-face teaching for interested cooks, preparing those wishing to apply for the Thai cooks standards assessment.
