Mr. Wannarat said that the Ministry of Labour, under the leadership of the Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin, has set the Safety & Healthy Thailand measure as an important policy to promote Thai labour and work safety standards. It aims to promote and support knowledge about Thai labour standards, labour social responsibility, system management, and management of occupational safety, health, and work environment. It aims to promote participation in the development of labour and the quality of life, promote health, and prevent diseases among workers. Workplace safety must be achieved systematically through cooperation in the creation, development, implementation, and management of occupational safety, health, and working environment. All sectors and relevant parties must be aware of the risks and dangers. The importance of safety in the workplace, processes, and working environments, as well as awareness of the hazards that come with technological developments, requires as many measures as possible to prevent potential hazards that may happen to operators,
Mr. Wannarat said that the Ministry of Labour thanked the Thai Occupational Medicine Foundation, the Phra Nakhon Provincial Safety Officer Network, Perfect Safety Training and Consulting Co., Ltd., and the Samut Sakhon Skill Development Office for jointly organizing such a project for the trainees to have knowledge and understanding about the skills and behaviours, roles and duties of forklift operators. The project will prepare participants physically and mentally and have a good attitude in their careers. Workers will be able to perform tasks as specified by the criteria and comply with the rules to operate a forklift truck to move goods. It also allows them to practice in the event of a forklift failure, in case of emergencies, and use and maintain the forklift properly. The project also helps reduce the cost burden for trainees and employers. The course trains forklift operators of up to 10 tons and safe driving, with two classes, with 25 people in each class, totaling 50 people. The course is free of charge. This joint effort is driving the Safety & Healthy Thailand policy with the Ministry of Labour following the civil state guidelines to ensure safety at work and develop a workplace safety culture in Thai society so Thai people are truly secure and safe.
