MOL Joins Maritime Labour Committee Meeting No. 3/2022

            On July 22, 2022, at 09.00 hours, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Ms. Bubpha Rueangsud, chaired the Maritime Labour Committee Meeting No. 3/2022. The meeting considered the report on the implementation of the International Labour Organization Convention on Maritime Labour, B.E. 2549 (2006), No. 2 of Thailand, and the need for secondary legislation under Article 45 of the Maritime Labour Act B.E. 2558, for other reasons a seafarers or ship owners might terminate a seafarer employment agreement effective in less than seven days or without prior notice. It also considered the need for secondary legislation under Section 46 of the Maritime Labour Act B.E. 2558 on the determination of minimum wage rates for seafarers, the need for secondary legislation under Section 35 of the Maritime Labour Act B.E. 2558 regarding other expenses for employment licensees to request or receive from job seekers. The meeting took place at the Prof. Nikom Chantravitun meeting room, 5th floor, Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, Ministry of Labour.
