On September 16, 2021, at 14.00 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol assigned Assistant to the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Ms. Pattraporn Samantarat, to participate in the subcommittee meeting to prepare for the APEC Economic Area Leadership Meeting and related meetings during Thailand’s hosting of the 2022 APEC Meeting no. 3/2021, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
As Thailand will host the APEC Meeting 2022, the national committee will prepare for the APEC Economic Area Leadership Meeting and related meetings during Thailand’s hosting. Therefore, there was an order to appoint a subcommittee responsible for determining the roles and stances of Thailand for the APEC Economic Area Leadership Meeting and other related meetings during Thailand’s hosting of the APEC Meeting in 2022. The main topics were set, including issues to be pushed in various fields of cooperation to promote the dynamics of cooperation, the status and role of Thailand in the region as well as determine the strategic issues that Thailand wants to drive with the economic zones participating in the meeting.
Today’s meeting was attended and chaired by Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign. The meeting acknowledged three priorities: 1) Comprehensive growth promotion. 2) Trade and investment facilitation, and 3) Revitalization of connectivity, especially travel and tourism. The ministry is responsible for reporting progress on the preparation of key deliverables, consist of 1) The creation of the Bangkok Goals on BCG. 2) The implementation of the Free Trade Area of the Asia Pacific (FTAAP), and 3) Reviving cross-border travel in APEC and progress on preparing 21 projects under the above issues.
