MOL Joins the Driving Sustainable Efficiency for Trafficking in Persons Subcommittee Meeting No. 2/2022

           On June 30, 2022, Academic Labour Advisor Mrs. Napasorn Toongsooksai joined the Driving Sustainable Efficiency for Trafficking in Persons Subcommittee Meeting No. 2/2022. Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister, Police General Thammasak Wicharaya, chaired the meeting. Representatives from the Ministry of Labour’s subcommittee joined the meeting, including the Department of Employment’s Deputy Director-General Mr. Santi Nantasuwan, the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare’s Inspector-General Mr. Krirkkrai Nasomyont, Head of the Office of the Secretariat of the Labour Trafficking Prevention Command Center, Ms. Sophana Boon-Long, and representatives from the Ministry of Labour and other agencies involved in the subcommittee such as the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, the Royal Thai Police, the Department of Provincial Administration, the Department of Fisheries, the Bureau of Budget and the Catholic Bishops’ Council of Thailand (Stella Maris).
           At this meeting, the subcommittee discussed progress on the establishment of a victim separation center (Don Mueang), the implementation of the Action Plan on the National Referral Mechanism (NRM), case management, and supporting the protection of victims of human trafficking and forced labour or services for 2022. The meeting also discussed the procurement of locations and budgets to support the NRM implementation, including victim screening/segregation in the fisheries sector.
