MOL Receives A Letter From the President of Hitachi Compressor Thailand Workers Union

          On January 18, 2021, at 11.00 hours, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Advisory Board Members Mr. Manat Kosol and Teerawit Wongphet, and Deputy Director-General of the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare Mr. Wannarat Srisuksai, as representatives to receive a letter from Mr. Banchong Bunchuen, President of Hitachi Compressor Thailand Workers Union, and team, for assistance in the case where Hitachi Compressor Company (Thailand) Co., Ltd. changed the company’s shareholders. The occasion took place at the Labour Relations Committee Meeting Room, 1st floor, Department of Labour Protection and Welfare. The shares of the company transferred to Media Group Co., Ltd., causing employees to be worried that whether the new shareholders will maintain the employees’ employment after the share transfer. Employees who are members of the workers union will request to exercise the rights following the agreement on the original employment conditions, regarding the right to leave before retirement, where the employee will receive benefits under the agreement. But, if the company provides a guarantee of maintaining the working condition according to the agreement, the employees wish to continue to work. Deputy Director-General of the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare will meet with Hitachi, Media Group Co., Ltd., and the workers union to consult for a resolution as soon as possible.
