MOL Receives Outstanding Performance Award on Drug Prevention on International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2019

          On June 26, 2019, at 13.00 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol assigned the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General Mr. Todsaphon Kritwongwiman as representative to participate as the recipient of the plaque and for honourable person and organization with excellent and outstanding performance in drug prevention for 2019. The occasion took place at the Makawan Rangsan Meeting Room, Royal Thai Military Club, with Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Wisanu Kruea-ngarm who presided over the ceremony.
 

 

 

  In this ceremony, the Office of Inspection and Evaluation, Office of the Permanent Secretary, received the Outstanding Award for Drug Prevention. It is an essential unit in driving policy implementation, plans and budgets for preventing and solving drug problems in the labour group to practice in local areas. The offices also monitor operations by integrating with the Ministry of Labour’s mission, which is driven through provincial labour offices throughout the country. This is an essential mechanism for establishing drug immunity among workers in establishments with less than 10 employees. There are 7,255 sub-district labour volunteers throughout the country which have continuously developed the capacity of volunteer workers in local communities by transferring knowledge on the prevention and problem solving of narcotics for workers in the workplace and informal workers in the area, especially among contractors and farmers, which are considered high-risk groups in the spread of drugs. Furthermore, the network of anti-drug labour volunteers has expanded from the village level to the community level to prevent and monitor drug problems among workers. For individuals with outstanding drug prevention results this year, personnel under the Ministry of Labour received 1 award, which was, Mr. Vichan Suksamran, a specialist academic under the Office of Labor Protection and Welfare in Ayutthaya Department. Mr. Vichan plays a vital role in driving the prevention and surveillance of drug problems in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province.
