MOL Receives Private Sector’s Donations to Support Workers

Content Description

On October 18, 2021, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong received consumer goods and consumables from Ek-Chai Distribution System Co., Ltd., with Mr. Salilla Seehaphan, Chief Personnel and Sustainability Officer as a representative. The occasion took place at the foyer on the ground floor, Ministry of Labour. The donations were given to the Ministry of Labour to help workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and the impact of the flooding.

Ek-Chai Distribution System Co., Ltd. has worked with the Ministry of Labour to build careers through the COVID-19 crisis in 2021. The company has continued to open branches in Thailand, hiring over 500 new full-time employees, boosting local employment, and maintaining the current employment situation. The company has provided career advancement opportunities, knowledge, and skill development. It has supported participation and equality and has given opportunities to various groups in society, including finding jobs for special people, such as 447 elderly people, through the “60 Young Jaew” project (as of September 2021). It also continuously supports the Ministry of Labour’s Department of Employment’s policy in accepting new graduates to work under the co-Payment program.

In this regard, the company had discussions on extending the duration of the new employment promotion program for new graduates by public and private (co-payment project), simplifying the conditions to follow the current situation. It has also discussed a new project to extend the mission of recruiting for a special group of people such as students and the elderly, sourcing replacement workers for those infected with COVID-19, especially in the most restrictive and controlled areas. The company has further implemented guidelines for recruiting foreign workers for certain jobs and allocating vaccines in the provinces, especially the provinces in the south, which are at-risk areas.

“Thank you, Ek-Chai Distribution System Co., Ltd. for donating items to the Ministry of Labour to help the workers on this occasion. This is to be a morale booster for everyone to overcome different crises together,” concluded Mr. Boonchob.
