On July 8, 2013, Ms. Kwanta Mongkornratana, Minister Counsellor (Labour Affairs) of Office of Labour Affairs in Kaoshiung, led Mrs. Khamoi Suwannarat to meet with the owner of SHIN NAN CASTING FACTORY CO.,LTD in Tainan city and negotiate compensation for her husband,  Mr. Winai Suwannarat, who died while working at the company’s factory.

The negotiation was quickly settled as the owner agreed to take the responsibility. The victim’s relatives would receive compensation higher than the amount they earlier set, which also exclude benefits from the labour insurance fund. The owner also agreed to pay for all funeral expense and travel expenses of Mrs. Khamoi and her three other relatives.

Mr. Winai Suwannarat, 42, travelled to work with SHIN NAN CASTING FACTORY CO.,LTD for the second time on June 11, 2012. The Udon Thani man was looked after by GOLDEN GRAND MANPOWER CONSULTANT CORP., a job placement firm.

On June 26, 2013, 7pm local time, Mr. Winai was found lying under a metal manufacturing machine with severe injuries by his colleagues, who then notified the owner, before being taken to a hospital. He was later pronounced death due to severe injuries.

Mr. Winai had worked on a ship. He went to work in Taiwan for the first time in 1995. He then travelled to work in Israel before returning to Taiwan for the second spell working.
