Taiwan will cut the processing time of Alien Resident Certificate in order to protect foreign workers’rights and enter into labour insurance fund, health fund and foreign worker management.
The new regulations will be effective on 16th July 2012. Foreign works can get Alien Resident Certificate: ARC within 10 days which is cut from 30 days of application.
However, under the new regulations, foreign workers may directly apply for an ARC prior to receiving a letter of approval from the Council of Labor Affairs (CLA) and receive ARC within 10 days.
In the past, foreign workers must show work permit issued by CLA. The new measures would also cut the processing time for an ARC from 30 days at present to within 10 days of an application. It would help foreign workers to apply labor or health insurance easier
