Office of Labour Affairs in Japan joins labour mobile event in Gunma prefecture

On May 7, 2013, Office of Labour Affairs in Japan assigned Mrs. Malee Wadam, oversea employment coordinator, to give labour advice to visitors at labour mobile event, which was held at Wat Phra Dhammakaya temple in Gunma Prefecture. The event, the third of its kind, was organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo.

 

1)      A total of 109 visitors received services at the event. Most of them concerned visa application. Others concerned document approval, labor consultation, family consultation and health check service.

 

2)      Most service receivers were Thai women who are married with Japanese. More than half were workers. They asked for the following advices; Document approval process for bringing in Thai cook, Document approval process for temporary return to Thailand, Tax refund process and progress on compensation claims against employer.

 

3)      Japanese doctors voluntarily provided preliminary health check service and health advice for Thai people/workers at the event. Mrs. Malee acted as interpreter for Japanese doctors and Thai service receivers. A total of 25 people received the service, 14 of who were workers. Mostly, they had high-blood pressure, and sore shoulder caused by long-period of work. Several of them were advised to undertake a full health check at hospital.
