Office of Labour Affairs in Malaysia joined the collaboration development project for the victims of human trafficking and suffering Thais under the 4th reunion on the occasion of National Mather’s Day

                On 8 August 2010, Mr. Kamthorn Sithichoti, Minister and Mr. Singhadej Chu-amart, Minister Counselor (Labour) visited Sadao District, Songkla Province in order to attend Thailand-Malaysia collaboration development project for victims of human trafficking and suffering Thais under the 4th reunion on the occasion of National Mother’s Day.
               Owning to the MOU between Thailand and Malaysia on sending Thais who are detained in Malaysian detention centre back to Thailand, it apparently found that most detained Thai workers are the victims of human trafficking and the suffering in Malaysia. This project is continually implemented every year which Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur and Office of Labour Affairs in Malaysia will examine the facts that Thais committed wrongful act in Malaysia and were imprisoned or detained in Malaysia including illegal workers and Thai workers who were sanctioned. The Southern Border Province Administration Center will coordinate with other authorities in rendering assistance to those in terms of seeking for a job, offering land and providing health aid.  
                 The ceremony was arranged at the meeting room of community hall at Sadao District Office, Songkla Province chaired by Mr. Che Din bin Yusoh, Deputy Director General of Immigration Malaysia and Mr. Tavorn Saneniam, Assistant Minister of Interior. This year, there were 168 Thai workers in total were sent back to Thailand.
