On 31 August 2010 at 2.00pm -3.30 pm, Mr. Chaiyot Yoosab, Minister Counselor (labour) and CPO1 Mr. Bancha Chuenchom, Labour Counselor paid a courtesy visit to H.E.Mr. Pasan Teparak, Counsel- General to Dubai at the Office of Labour in Saudi Arabia, Riyadh on the occasion of his ascending. In this regard, H.E. Mr. Pasan mentioned about a good coordination between Royal Thai Consulate General in Dubai and Office of Labour Affairs in Saudi Arabia in raising and protecting rights of Thai workers working in Dubai. Approximately 5,500 people working in service sector classifying into 900 hostesses of EMIRATES Airline, 97 waiters of Dusit Thaini Hotel, chef working at over 50 well-known restaurants, massage therapists working in Dubai since 1 January 2010 until present. Royal Thai Consulate General in Dubai has assured more than 700 job positions such as construction workers, industrial workers, Aluminium mirror installer, chefs and waiters. In relation to direct employment, other companies have assured employment contracts for more than 100 Thai workers.
Thai workers have advantage over other nationalities since they are generous and have social relations, skills and high working responsibility but they have no skills to communicate with foreign employers and colleagues in English, and not grasp state of society, tradition, culture and geographical features   casing them downhearted and need to return to Thailand. In addition, some Thai workers lack of knowledge about local laws, how to adjust themselves to the colleagues, alcohol misuse having negative influence to working performance.
