Taiwan Labour Insurance Department revealed that in the past the pension recipient who possesses tangible properties costing higher than NT$5million value estimate would not be entitled to the pension. In 2012, the Bureau of Labour Insurance shall begin paying the pension to entitled persons starting from January 2012 as the revised provisions of the Act. It is anticipated that there would be approximately 8,000 persons entitled to the rights.
Bureau of Labour Insurance revealed that the old persons aged over 65 years receiving the benefits of NT$3,500 as the effective of the pension law act are entitled to the benefits subject to the condition that they shall possess tangible properties costing higher than NT$5million value estimate, even thought they are unqualified to be assured under pension system. Since the value estimate of lands recently rose abruptly, it caused more than 18,000 pension recipients are ineligible to receive the benefits. However, after a complaint issued to Taiwan legislature, more than 10,000 pension recipients could then be entitled to the benefits as usual. However, after Taiwan legislature revised the laws, 8,000 remaining pension recipients have rights to receive the benefits as the same as well.
