Office of Labour Affairs in Taipei reported “ Taiwan organized Job Fair”

A job fair organized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) in Taipei, with job seekers swarming to the fair to vie for over 10,000 job vacancies offered by 158 companies, according to the MOEA. Large firms from a range of fields were among the companies participating, including Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. and McDonald’s. Many job seekers and those looking to change jobs showed up at the fair to try their luck.
Of the job vacancies available at the fair, those in the service sector accounted for the largest portion at 52 percent. The electronics and information sector accounted for 25 percent while the daily necessities sector was 12 percent and the metal and electrical machinery sector was 10 percent. A top executive at the 1111 Job Bank said that as local companies usually release more job vacancies after the Chinese New Year holiday. A recent survey from the job bank showed that the jobless are staying unemployed an average of 4.47 months.
Also the Department of Labor under the Taipei City Government held the job fair, inviting 39 companies to offer 2,000 job opportunities for job seekers. Among the participating companies were Wow-Prime Group, Uni-President Convenience Stores, Black Bridge Sausage, Cosmed, and Partyworld KTV
