Office of Labour Affairs in Taiwan receives deputy chairwoman of the House’s Foreign Affairs Committee

On May 28, Mrs. Ratiwan Soontara, Minister Counsellor (Labour Affairs), and Ms. Pimpaporn  Thitayanan, Counsellor (Labour Affairs),  welcomed Mrs. Kusumalvati Sirikomut, Deputy Chairwoman of the House of Representatives’ Foreign Affairs Committee. Delegates accompanied her included Mrs. Patcharin Manpan, Deputy Chairwoman of Office of the Consumer Protection Board, Mrs. Butsarin Worapattananad, secretary-general of committee on disaster prevention and mitigation, Mrs. Yaowanit Phiangket, member of committee on constitutional organisations, state enterprises, public organisations and funds. They have travelled to Taiwan at the invitation of the foreign ministry of that country.

 

The visiting senior officers were taken to visit Thai employees working at Compeq Manufacturing Co., Ltd., manufacturer of printed circuit board for hard disc smart phone and equipment used for collecting information data. The company employs 212 Thais, 350 Filipinos and 150 Indonesians.

 

The visiting officers told the Thai workers that the House of Representatives has attached importance to Thai workers in oversea because they could generate revenue for the country. They also told the workers that the House is concerned for the workers who live under a strange environment in abroad and may have encountered problems. The workers were told that if they happen to come across cruxes, they should contact Office of Labour Affairs in Taipei and seek for assistance. The Thai workers were asked to work hard, carry out their duties and preserve good reputations of Thailand.
