Officials Prepared before Stationing Abroad

                         Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Singhadet Chu-umnart chaired the commencement of the training in preparing officials for station abroad, which took place from 13-15 July 2017 at The Berkley Hotel in Bangkok. He said that officials on assignment abroad as ministers and counsellors (on labour) were key positions as they are the ministry’s representatives abroad. With the importance of the role, he said that all officials would need to be prepared for duty, possessing leadership, visionary, practical and competitive skills to drive strategies to implementation and manage the workforce abroad. As for fulfilling national duty, he said the officials would been to be multi-skilled at the international level to create a good reputation and confidence in the kingdom.  Most importantly, Mr. Singhadet reiterated the importance of ethics and the values of Thai society, as well as consciousness to serve the people.
                        The Deputy Permanent Secretary said that the officials would have to know the laws and legislation on labour protection in each country so that Thai people working abroad have a good quality of life. He also urged the officials to learn the local language and to be on duty for 24 hours a day in order to help all forms of Thai workers when in need.
