Permanent Secretary of Labour Reiterates for Thai workers in Israel to Utilize Benefits Gained for National Development

          The Permanent Secretary of Labour emphasized that Thai workers traveling to work in Israel work with diligence, patience, sacrifice, honesty to their duty, and use the benefits gained from their opportunities for effective national development.
          Today (July 3, 2019) at 16.00 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol gave a testimony to workers before traveling to work in Israel, and made a recording tapes on the “Thailand Moves Forward” program at the job-seeker training room before going abroad, at the Overseas Employment Administration Division, 11th floor, Bangkok Social Security Office Area 3. He said, “Today, the Thai and the Israeli government is determined to ensure that Thai workers traveling to work in the agricultural sector in Israel follows the laws of both countries, and is fair, transparent, concise and effective. It aims to ensure that the people and job-seekers receive information about working in the agricultural sector in Israel thoroughly and pay a small amount in travel expenses to work. The Thai government, by the Ministry of Labour and the Israeli government, signed a joint labour agreement, which aims to promote the employment of Thai workers to work in the agricultural sector in Israel following the rules and regulations of both countries This is an initiative to combat human trafficking, illegal migration and hiring of foreign workers, as well as to support operations between the Department of Employment and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in sending Thai workers to work in the agricultural sector in Israel.”
          The Thai economy is still in a period of growth. I consider you as a group of workers, which generates high income to Thailand and support your families to have a better quality of life and more stability, which affects the community’s economic development. When returning to Thailand, you will also be able to apply various skills, knowledge and technologies, be self-reliant and not a burden to society,” he said.
          “I hope that you remain diligent, patient, have sacrifice, honesty in your duty and use the benefits gained from their opportunities for effective national development,” concluded the Permanent Secretary of Labour.
          
 
 
 
          Thai workers who travel to work under the Thai-Israel cooperation program for employment from June 27, 2012, to December 31, 2018, reached 33,453 people. For 2019, the Department of Employment set a goal to deliver 5,000 Thai workers to Israel. The results from January-June 2019 are 2,665 people, separated into 2,567 males and 98 females. Today, the total number of people is 48, including 39 male and 9 female workers.
