On October 4, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Secretariat to the Labour Minister Mr. Suthep Chitayawong to visit the area to deliver “Uncle Tu and Uncle Pom’s Kitchen” food boxes, which allowed local vendors to cook food boxes for dinner, to have a career, and earn an income. There were 1,500 food boxes to distribute to members in the three Din Daeng communities affected by COVID-19. The. The first point was delivered 400 boxes to the Din Daeng City Rehabilitation Phase 1 (Din Daeng Plan G) project behind the Muhayireen Mosque. Mr. Samai Saengchat, Chairperson of the Community Committee of the Din Daeng City Rehabilitation Project Phase 1 (Din Daeng Plank G), received the goods. The second point was delivered 400 boxes at the field of the 8-story building, Pracha Songkhro Intersection, opposite Phibun Prachasan School. Mrs. Siriphen Sapna, Chairperson of Din Daeng 1 Community Housing, was the recipient. The third point was delivered 700 boxes at the sports ground area 51, Soi Pracha Songkhro 11, near the Din Daeng 2 Community Housing Market. Mr. Wichan Kheewkaew, Chairperson of the Din Daeng 2 Community Housing Committee, was the recipient.
Mr. Suthep said that Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha and Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, who oversees the Ministry of Labour, is concerned about workers and the general public who have been affected by the COVID-19 situation, especially the elderly, young children, bedridden patients, and the residents of the Din Daeng flats. They have no income due to the impact of the virus. Therefore, the Labour Minister has been assigned to visit the area to deliver food boxes which allows the vendors in the community to make food boxes to have a career and income. The project produces 1,500 boxes per day and will be distributed to members in the Din Daeng community affected by the COVID-19 situation for dinner. The food boxes will be distributed at the three locations, starting from September 16 to October 12, 2021, for 27 days to alleviate the suffering and the burden of family expenses.
The Din Daeng Housing Community has 55 residential buildings, comprising 7,697 rooms, with 29,810 residents. There are 300 households with elderly people who cannot help themselves, and 100 households with people with disabilities need to be cared for. For COVID-19 prevention measures, the Din Daeng Community Housing Board encourages residents to wear masks at all times when leaving the accommodation, implements COVID-19 screening test for merchants in the Din Daeng Community Housing Market, and urges the implementation of the CCSA’s measures too.
