“Pol.Gen. Adul” Leads Preparations for International Women’s Day 2019 Under “Women with Volunteer Spirit Doing Good Deeds with Heart” Theme

          The Labour Minister joined a press conference for International Women’s Day 2019 under the concept of “Women with Volunteer Spirit Doing Good Deeds with Heart”, with the announcement of 26 outstanding women to honour working women and campaign for all sectors to realize the importance of working women, as well as promote fair and equal treatment.
          On March 4, 2019, at 11.30 hours, Labour Minister H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo chaired a press conference for International Women’s Day 2019, alongside Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Jarin Chakkaphark and the ministry’s executives at the Prof. Nikom Chandravithun conference room. The Labour Minister said that the Ministry of Labour had organized the International Women’s Day event on Friday, March 8, 2019, at the Miracle Grand Convention Hotel, Bangkok, under the concept of “Women with Volunteer Spirit Doing Good Deeds with Heart” to encourage Thai society to recognize the importance of working women and promote fair and equal treatment. It also aims to ensure women get benefits from employment, are happy and have a good quality of life in work and honours outstanding women who are a model for other women to realize their values and instill determination to develop knowledge and ability to benefit themselves, family and society.
 

 

 In the event, there will be an award ceremony for the Outstanding Working Woman of 2019, divided into 7 categories, 26 awards consisting of: 1. Outstanding women executives’ category, 8 awards. 2. Outstanding women practitioners, 8 awards. 3. Outstanding worker networks, 5 awards. 4. Outstanding independent women professionals, 5 awards. 5. Outstanding artist, 1 award. 6. Outstanding media, 1 award and 7. Outstanding academic on women workers, 1 award. Examples of people who met the qualifications included Deputy Governor of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand Mrs. Pawana Aungkanuwat, awarded outstanding woman in state enterprise management, Director of the International Arts and Crafts Promotion Center for Women Mrs. Ampawan Pichalai, awarded for exceptional woman in government management, Senior Executive Vice President of Central Group Mrs. Supatra Chirathivat, awarded for outstanding woman in management, Ms. Kalayanee Jiamsakul (Biw Kalayanee), awarded for excellent female artist and Ms. Suparat Nakboonnam, awarded for exceptional woman in media. There were also other exciting activities, such as a talk show on “modern women with volunteer spirit for a stronger Thai society” by Colonel Dr. Pongsak Tangkana and an exhibition in honour of HRH Princess Soamsawali, a presentation on outstanding working women, a display of awarded products in the past and career demonstrations for example.
