“Pol.Gen. Adul” Shows Concern for Flood Victims in Prachuap Khiri Khan and Preparation for Occupational Relief

        The Labour Minister showed concern for flood victims in Prachuap Khiri Khan and emphasized the Ministry of Labour’s units to collaborate and prepare a rehabilitation plan, including a project to alleviate occupational difficulties after water levels reduce. 

 Labour Minister H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo showed concern for the low pressure covering the Southern provinces including Prachuap Khiri Khan during November 8-11, 2018, which resulted in heavy rain throughout Prachuap Khiri Khan. Three provinces were reported flooded, including 3 districts, 8 subdistricts, 171 villages, 8 communities and 1 municipality. A total of 27,961 people from 12,398 households were affected by the flooding; thus, the Ministry of Labour’s provincial units have been urged to work together to provide relief to the flood victims immediately.

 

 

 Pol.Gen. Adul explained that for the initial urgent actions, the Ministry of Labour’s provincial units in Prachuap Khiri Khan have worked with the provincial Community Development Office in the royal kitchen at the Royal Personal Affairs Division 904, established by H.M. King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun in Bang Saphan Wittaya School, to cook for the flood victims. Heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour led 20 volunteer officials and staff to the royal kitchen, whereas the Prachuap Khiri Khan Skill Development Office provided equipment for the kitchen. Additionally, the Ministry of Labour’s provincial agencies within Prachuap Khiri Khan will work together to provide relief to the flood victims after water levels drop, whereby the provincial Labour Office will conduct a needs survey and prepare to tackle occupational difficulties to those in need. As for the Provincial Skills Development Office, a plan will be formed for training courses on basic repair for electrical appliances and agricultural mechanics damaged by the flood. 

 “The people in Prachuap Khiri Khan need not to worry. All units under the Ministry of Labour Including local labour volunteers have prepared a rehabilitation plan and cooperation with various agencies to ease the suffering of flood victims in the aftermath of the flooding,” concluded the Labour Minister.
 There are 450 establishments In the district of Bang Saphan and Bang Saphan Noi with 8,600 workers who were not affected by this flood.
